What are electrolytes? Well here's an easy lesson in biology, electrolytes which are electrically charged minerals which are utilized by your body. They help regulate muscle cramping, nerve signaling, and keeps you hydrated. Especially in this triple digit heat we need to stay hydrated. Even after a workout your body needs electrolytes. Every time you sweat your body loses important minerals, which can lead to fatigue, nausea, abdominal and muscle cramping. Since I haven't been drinking enough water, I started to use electrolytes powders.
So, I picked my top three favorite options to keep hydrated and functioning:
It comes in different flavors. Personally, I love the refreshing taste of watermelon. I've been using the Liquid I.V. lately.
Reminds of my 3 mile-runs during the summer mornings 5 years ago. This was my go-to after a long run or a good workout. It kept me hydrated and give me a little caffeine boost.
Once you've tried other electrolyte powders you will notice some will have an odd salty taste. If you're not used to the odd taste or don't enjoy it, I'll go with this one. I was actually surprise how good it taste. I also love the company's mission, check it out DripDrop.
